Fall 2023 update!

So far we have been able to avoid any covid spread in the dojo. Our members concerns and current conditions help inform our current Covid policy. The good news is that all of our members are vaccinated and when available have been boosted. Masks are now optional and we will continue to be flexible based on spread and dangers presented.

Keeping our members and their family members safe is primary!

VACCINATIONS and BOOSTERS:  are recommended for participation in the Dojo, we will no longer check cards unless they are offered :

MASKS: Are are optional. All members should use their best judgement to help insure the dojo is a safe place and that they feel safe. If you have been traveling by air, bus or train we encourage you to please wear a mask or take a rapid test, if you work in a high risk environment please wear a mask or test regularly. If you wear a mask kn95’s offer the best protection.   If you would like to test we have test kits in the dojo and are building our supply, just ask. People might make decisions that differ from our own.  We are confident our members will treat all our students or teachers with respect regardless of the choice they make regarding masking. If conditions shift our policy will also shift.

REGISTERING for Classes:

We still want everyone to use the registration system. We need to keep track of who is in the dojo and some people may wish to avoid larger classes.

Visitors who fly in will be asked to test prior to entering the dojo.

EXPOSURE: to Covid: Individuals who have received their booster should not need to quarantine following an exposure, but should wear a KN95 mask after the exposure.  For all those exposed, best practice would also include a TEST for SARS-CoV-2 at day 5 after  If symptoms occur, individuals should test and if positive quarantine until a negative test confirms symptoms are not attributable to COVID-19.

Training update

We are incredibly proud and grateful to our dojo members for their resiliency and adaptability. With fall of  2023 upon us and a new variant circulating covid continues to be an issue. A new booster is coming soon and we recommend getting it when it’s available.  The good news is 100% of our members are vaccinated and when available boosted. We welcome new members and visitors.  Please use the zen planner app to register for class.  Please continue to register on the app for class.  Our dojo is a great way to connect to a great community and we are looking forward to welcoming new members.

If you need any help at all with anything please let us know. If you would like to buy swords or staffs we have a few and have some that can be borrowed.

Ania and I are deeply grateful for our aikido community and stand ready to do what we can.

Thank you
